In a recent court case in Dallas County on May 8, 2024, 55-year-old Victor Brown pleaded guilty to charges of Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault. The case, which stemmed from a fatal collision on January 7, 2022, left one person dead and another seriously injured.
Terese Robinson was on her way to visit her grandchildren when Brown's vehicle rear-ended her car on Great Trinity Forest Way, propelling her into oncoming traffic where she collided with Martin Jimenez Munoz's car. The impact proved fatal for Terese and caused severe bodily harm to Martin.
During the investigation, Brown was found to be intoxicated and uncooperative. He repeatedly expressed fear of being shot by the police. A blood test revealed his blood alcohol content to be 0.162, significantly above the legal limit. Further analysis from the Event Data Recorder (EDR) of Brown's vehicle indicated he was traveling at 91 mph in a 50 mph zone just before the collision occurred.
As a result of his guilty plea, Brown was sentenced to 25 years in prison with a Deadly Weapon finding. The prosecution team, led by Priscilla Pelli and supported by DA Investigator Ron Cathcart and DA Paralegal Maria Cantrell, ensured justice was served in this tragic case.
