On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at approximately 4:21 am, an Irving Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving erratically. The officer assessed the driver, 35-year-old Jimenez Jose Deairez Howell, and observed signs of intoxication.
During the arrest attempt, Howell assaulted the officer, leading to a struggle. Additional officers arrived at the scene and managed to take Howell into custody.
Howell was charged with DWI - Open Container, Resisting Arrest, and Assault on a Peace Officer. A blood test confirmed his intoxication.
Earlier this year, on March 1, 2024, Howell was arrested by DFW Airport Police for driving recklessly and harassment.
