Single-Vehicle Crash on SH161 in North Irving Claims Life of 73-Year-Old Man

On Monday, June 10th, at approximately 3:15 pm, Irving Police Officers responded to a major crash on southbound SH 161 at W. Rochelle Rd in North Irving. The investigation revealed that the crash involved a single vehicle, which for unknown reasons lost control and flipped multiple times, ejecting the driver.

The driver, identified as 73-year-old Ted Carl Methvin of Grand Prairie, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities suspect a medical emergency may have caused the crash, though this has not been confirmed.

The highway was shut down, and traffic was diverted at Walnut Hill Ln for several hours while the investigation was completed.
