Keep Children Safe: Irving Police Offering Free Gun Locks to Residents

Every day, incidents of gun violence affect children across the country. So far this year, 1,730 children aged 0-17 have been injured by firearms, and 632 have lost their lives.

As June marks Gun Violence Awareness Month, it is a crucial time to remind gun owners to exercise heightened caution and responsibility. With children spending more time at home during the summer months, the risk of firearm-related accidents increases.

One simple yet effective way to prevent these tragedies is by using gun locks or safes. The Irving Police Department, located at 305 N O'Connor Dr, is offering free gun locks to residents.
