Man Found Beaten in April on W. Mockingbird Lane Near Irving Blvd Dies; Case Assigned to Dallas Homicide Unit

On April 6, 2024, at approximately 8:35 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a call in the 700 block of W. Mockingbird Lane, near Irving Blvd. Upon arrival, officers discovered 34-year-old Avery Norwood, who was beaten and unconscious. Norwood was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

On August 21, 2024, Dallas Police were informed that Norwood had died from his injuries. The case has been reassigned to the Homicide Unit.

Currently, there is no suspect information available. The investigation is ongoing and is documented under case number 054020-2024.
