Body of Bedford Man Found in Burning Car in East Texas; Three Arrested for Murder in Social Media Robbery Scheme

Murder Suspects: Nathaniel Hall and Jasmine Williams

Three individuals, including two adults and a juvenile, are facing capital murder charges in Texas following a robbery scheme that resulted in the death of a man. Nathaniel Hall, 18, Jasmine Williams, 21, and a 16-year-old boy, whose identity has not been disclosed, are accused in the death of 20-year-old Kameron Montre Anderson from Bedford, Texas.

Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith reported at a Saturday press conference that the investigation commenced on September 1 in Rusk County after deputies responded to a car fire. Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered Anderson’s body in the trunk of the vehicle. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives identified Hall, Williams, and the juvenile as suspects. They believe the trio lured Anderson from his Bedford home to Hall’s residence in Smith County via social media, potentially under the pretense of a sexual encounter. The scheme, known as a "rip" or robbery, led to Anderson’s murder. Neighbors had reported hearing gunshots near Hall’s home on the night of the incident. Hall’s mother informed deputies that her son had been with Williams and the juvenile that evening.

Following the shooting, the suspects allegedly placed Anderson’s body in the trunk of his own car and transported it to Rusk County, where they set the vehicle on fire.

Last Wednesday, Tyler Police Officers conducted a traffic stop involving Hall and four others. During the stop, officers reportedly recovered an AR-15 rifle and a 9 mm handgun from Hall, with the handgun being of the same caliber used in Anderson’s murder. Both firearms were reported stolen. Detectives are investigating whether these weapons are connected to the murder. Additionally, 9 mm bullets were found during a search of Hall’s home.

The Smith County District Attorney’s Office will decide whether to pursue the death penalty in this case.

Anderson, a graduate of Trinity High School, had briefly attended Blinn College before returning to Bedford to be near his family.
