On August 28, 2024, the Farmers Branch Police Department was alerted by staff from Mary Immaculate Catholic School about threats directed at the institution. Patrol officers responded, took an initial offense report, and assigned the case to the Farmers Branch Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation.
On September 4, detectives secured an arrest warrant for 37-year-old Ramiro Manuel Rivera from Murphy, Texas. Rivera was arrested on September 9 and charged with making Terroristic Threats, a Class A Misdemeanor. He was booked at the Farmers Branch Municipal Jail and released on bond. The case will be forwarded to the Dallas County District Attorney’s office for prosecution.
In response to the incident, the Farmers Branch Police Department is increasing patrols around Mary Immaculate Catholic School and ensuring uniformed officers are present on campus during school hours. The department is working closely with school staff to address community concerns and maintain safety.
