Two Found Dead in Midlothian Home in Apparent Murder-Suicide, 16-Year-Old Alerts Grandmother

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at approximately 7:42 a.m., the Ellis County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding two deceased individuals at a residence in the 9600 block of Baucum Road in Midlothian, Texas. The caller reported that her 16-year-old grandson had come to her nearby home and informed her that both of his parents were deceased.

Deputies from the Ellis County Sheriff's Office, along with medical personnel, responded to the scene, where the two victims were pronounced deceased. Both appeared to have died from gunshot wounds in what is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide. Authorities have stated there is no perceived danger to the surrounding community.

The Ellis County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the incident to determine a possible motive. Details surrounding the deaths remain limited as the investigation is ongoing. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family members.
