The Irving Public Library system is receiving extensive renovations at Valley Ranch, South Irving, and West Irving branches to enhance the buildings' functionality and aesthetics. These upgrades come as the South Irving Library nears its 10-year milestone, West Irving reaches 15 years, and Valley Ranch approaches 20 years of service.
Key dates include:
- Valley Ranch Library: Reopens with full services, including storytimes, on Sept. 25.
- West Irving Library: Closed from Sept. 22 to Oct. 6 for flooring replacement. Patrons can return items or seek assistance at South Irving or Valley Ranch during this time.
- South Irving Library: Renovations will be completed in phases, lasting through the end of the year.
The upgrades include new circulation desks, fresh paint, soundproofing, HVAC systems, carpeting, and restroom improvements. The project is funded by the 2021 Municipal Bond election, and patrons are encouraged to check the Library Renovation Project Website for updates on closures, holds, and services.
