At 7:44 pm, Sunday night, Officers responded to a major accident in the 1400 block of E. S.H. 183 involving six vehicles, two of which were motorcycles.
Investigators state that the two motor cycles were westbound at a high rate of speed when they came upon traffic that was stopped for debris in the roadway. Initial indications are that the two motorcycles were traveling too fast to stop and collided with each other then struck a van. Both then made impact with four other vehicles before coming to rest.
Both of the motorcycle operators were deceased at the scene.
