The Arlington Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle wreck that resulted in the deaths of two people in the early morning hours of October 13, 2024. At approximately 2:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of W. Division Street, where an SUV had left the roadway and was fully engulfed in flames.
The Arlington Fire Department quickly responded and extinguished the fire. Upon inspection, officers discovered the remains of two individuals inside the vehicle. Due to the severity of the injuries, authorities have been unable to identify the victims.
Preliminary investigations suggest the SUV was traveling eastbound on Division Street when it veered off the road for an unknown reason, striking a metal light pole before continuing east and crashing into a tree. The vehicle then caught fire.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the names of the deceased once they are positively identified and their next of kin have been notified.
