Irving Woman Attempts for Steal Dallas Cowboys Shirt at Walmart, Assaults Police Officer During Detention

On Sunday, October 13th, at 9:45 AM, Irving Police officers responded to a shoplifting call at the Walmart located at W. Airport Fwy and Esters Rd. Officers discovered that 28-year-old Ashia Ann Thomas, a resident of the Bridgeport Apartments on Polaris Dr in North Irving, was caught swapping the price tag on a Dallas Cowboys t-shirt valued at $16.97.

During the attempt to detain Thomas, she elbowed one of the uniformed officers. As a result, she was booked into the Irving Jail at 10:25 AM and charged with Assaulting a Public Servant, a third-degree felony. Additionally, Thomas was found to be in possession of an expired driver’s license.

On October 14th, she was transferred to the Dallas County Jail and later released on bond.
