Traffic Delays Expected as Concrete Unloading Begins at Esters and Rochelle Intersection

Beginning Tuesday, October 29, from 7 AM to 2 PM, trucks will be unloading concrete in the middle lanes of the Esters and Rochelle Road intersection. Drivers should anticipate traffic delays and consider seeking alternate routes.

Esters Road is currently restricted to two-way traffic in the northbound lanes from Twin Falls Street to State Highway (SH) 183. Additionally, Rainier Street, from Esters Road to approximately 4300 Rainier Street (the entrance to the apartment complex), is closed for stormwater drainage installation, with work expected to continue through September 20. East- and westbound Rainier Street traffic will be detoured; a detour map is available for reference.

Phase I of the Esters Road Paving and Utility Improvements Project includes the installation of a new 12-inch water line, replacement and widening of the southbound lanes, and the installation of a 20-inch water line, along with additional storm drainage pipes and junction boxes up to the intersection of Rainier Street. This phase of the project is expected to last until December 2024, weather permitting.

The $17 million Esters Road Paving and Utility Improvements Project aims to enhance the area with new water lines, replacement of existing water lines, wastewater mains, storm drainage systems, concrete paving, and sidewalks, with a projected completion date of August 2025, weather permitting.
