Three Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on N. Central Expressway in Richardson

On October 31, 2024, at approximately 11:55 p.m., the Richardson Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash on the 3400 block of N. Central Expressway. The crash involved multiple vehicles and claimed three lives, including that of a young child.

Officers were initially alerted to a stalled Cadillac SUV in the southbound HOV lane. Before officers could arrive to assist, a Lexus SUV, driven by 27-year-old Haley Taylor, struck the Cadillac from behind. Shortly afterward, a Dodge sedan traveling southbound collided with the rear of the Lexus.

At the time of the crash, the driver and six passengers of the Cadillac were standing outside the vehicle. Tragically, 19-year-old passenger Alyia Khalid was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cadillac’s driver and four passengers sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital, while one passenger was unharmed.

Taylor and her 6-year-old daughter, occupants of the Lexus, were also transported to the hospital, where both were pronounced deceased.

The Dodge’s driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. During the second impact between the Dodge and the Lexus, a nearby Nissan sedan was struck twice—first by the Dodge, which had come to a stop, and then by an 18-wheeler passing through the crash site. No injuries were reported by the drivers of the Nissan or the 18-wheeler.

Two additional vehicles were also damaged by debris from the scene, though no injuries were reported in those vehicles. The Richardson Police Special Crash Investigation Team is continuing its investigation into the fatal collision.
