Former Lake Worth Officer Indicted for Aggravated Assault and Tampering with Records

A Tarrant County Grand Jury returned an indictment on Friday, November 8, 2024, against former Lake Worth police officer Landon Rollins, 44, in connection with an on-duty use of force incident on May 14, 2024. Rollins was indicted on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, and one count of tampering with a governmental record, a state jail felony.

Rollins turned himself into the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, following the indictment. The Texas Rangers were called to investigate the incident, with their findings presented to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office for review. An internal investigation by the Lake Worth Police Department also found multiple sustained policy violations, resulting in Chief J.T. Manoushagian issuing an intent to terminate Rollins on July 8, 2024.

The Lake Worth Police Department affirmed its commitment to justice and accountability, stating that the department would continue to hold officers to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. Rollins' employment with the department ended on July 8, 2024.
