The Arlington Police Department has arrested 20-year-old Marshall McLemore in connection with the shooting death of 28-year-old Alexander Rivas, who was found deceased in his Arlington home on October 21, 2024.
On October 21st at approximately 2:00 p.m., Arlington patrol officers were alerted by a man who had gone to check on a family friend living in the 300 block of Kingfisher Lane. Upon entering the home, the man discovered a body in the living room. Officers responding to the scene found Mr. Rivas with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators determined that he had been deceased for several days.
There were no signs of forced entry into the home, and evidence recovered at the scene suggested possible involvement in high-risk drug activity.
The investigation took a significant step forward when APD Crime Scene Investigators identified a fingerprint belonging to Mr. McLemore inside the residence. Multiple witnesses also came forward with information implicating him.
Cell phone records revealed that Mr. McLemore was at Mr. Rivas’ home during the timeframe of the murder and had been in communication with him just before his death.
On November 14, 2024, members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force and the Corpus Christi Police Department arrested Mr. McLemore in Corpus Christi without incident. He is being held at the Nueces County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Tarrant County to face one count of Murder.
