Dallas Police Officer Surrenders in Irving for Unauthorized Body Camera Release Charge

On Thursday, November 21, 2024, Dallas Police Officer Ali Toppa, #12098, surrendered to the Irving Police Department after an outstanding warrant was issued in Dallas County. The warrant charges Officer Toppa with Unauthorized Release of Body Worn Camera Recording, a Class A misdemeanor.

Later that evening, Officer Toppa was transferred to the Dallas County Jail for processing.

Officer Toppa, who joined the Dallas Police Department in September 2020 and is assigned to the Northwest Patrol Division, has been placed on administrative leave. An Internal Affairs administrative investigation is underway.
