Dallas Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Raping Irving 13-year-old Boy

William Rex Beckam

On November 13, 2024, in a Dallas County courtroom, William Rex Beckam of Dallas was found guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and was sentenced to LIFE in prison without the possibility of parole.

The Irving Police Department was the investigating agency because the abuse occurred within Irving city limits. According to court records, Beckam raped a child younger than 14 years of age on or about May 4th, 2023. He used a firearm to control the victim.

On that day, the 13-year-old male victim made the outcry that he was sexually assaulted by an unknown male in an unknown parking lot in Irving earlier that day.

The victim stated that he left home on foot at approximately 4:30 PM and walked to the area of the east service road of northbound President George Bush Turnpike and Rainier St. in Irving. While he was standing underneath the overpass, an unknown white male approached him. The victim said that the male had stopped on the service road in a black sedan. The male offered the victim to buy him a drink at Walmart but instead drove him to an empty parking lot. That's when the male pointed a gun at the young victim and forcefully raped him. Strangely, the male then dropped off the victim near his home in Irving. The victim was able to give a detailed description of his abuser to Irving Police investigators. He was able to identify the parking lot as being located at 3600 Esters Rd which belongs to The Church in Irving.

During the investigation, the suspect was identified as 36-year-old William Rex Beckam. The victim was able to positively identify the suspect from a lineup, recognized the tattoos on Beckam's face and behind one of his ears.   During the case, other victims were identified.

Prior to this offense, Beckham had already been convicted on June of 2022 in Dallas County for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

In his criminal record, Beckham also had a March, 2025, conviction in Howard County for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Request by Defendant for Life in Prison

Once being found guilty, Beckham asked the court to agree to a life without parole sentence. He also asked to plead guilty to life without parole for the cases involving the other children. Beckam was thoroughly admonished regarding this decision. After acknowledging that he understood the warning and consequences of his request, Judge Tina Clinton sentenced him in accordance with his wishes.
