On Tuesday, November 27, 2024, at approximately 1 a.m., Arlington Police responded to a disturbance at the Motel 6, located near 900 N. Collins Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered two men involved in a physical altercation inside a hotel room, with one man armed with a knife.
According to authorities, the armed suspect had been knocking on motel doors when a guest opened one. The hotel manager called 911. The guest managed to fight off the armed man before officers intervened. In response to the threat, officers fired their weapons, striking the suspect, who was then transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
No officers were injured in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
