The Richardson Police Department has announced the launch of the "Take Me Home" program, a service designed to help reunite individuals with cognitive disabilities with their families or caregivers if they are found wandering or reported missing.
By enrolling in the program, families can provide officers with critical information, including recent photos and emergency contacts, to help ensure a quick and safe reunion. This information is securely stored and accessible only by public safety personnel.
The program, originally developed by the Pensacola Police Department in 2003, has been widely adopted by law enforcement agencies nationwide.
