On December 25, 2024, at approximately 7:24 PM, Palmer officers responded to a residence on Poinsettia Dr. in Palmer (Ellis County) after a neighbor reported finding two individuals unresponsive.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of Sierra Ashléy Roarx, 31, and Byron M. Olivere, 55. Preliminary investigation suggests Mr. Olivere shot Ms. Roarx before taking his own life.
Ms. Roarx was a resident of Palmer, and Mr. Olivere resided in Waxahachie. Authorities have confirmed that the two were previously in a relationship.
Both bodies have been transported to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office for further examination.
