The Irving Public Library’s highly anticipated Glow-Up project continues this January with exciting upgrades across three library locations, enhancing the library experience for all visitors. This transformative project, which began in the summer of 2024, has already seen fresh paint and new carpet at library spaces. Now, the improvements are expanding to include updated circulation desks, public restrooms, and more.
Here’s what’s happening at each location:
-
Jan. 15 to 17, Valley Ranch Library: The library will be closed while brand-new circulation and reference desks are installed, and public restroom stalls are upgraded. Drive-up services will remain available, allowing for card services and materials to be picked up and dropped off. For drive-up hours, visit Cityofirving.org/2148.
-
Jan. 21 and 22, West Irving Library: The library will remain open while internal upgrades are made. The internal bookdrop and laminates in the lobby and vending area will be replaced. All regular services will continue during this time. Please note that all locations will be closed on Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
-
Jan. 23 to 24, South Irving Library: Services will be limited to the drive-up window for holds pickup, material returns, and card services while a sleek new circulation desk is installed. For drive-up hours, visit Cityofirving.org/2984.
These latest upgrades are part of the continued Glow-Up transformation aimed at providing modernized library spaces and improved services for the Irving community. For more about the renovation project visit the Library Renovation Project page.
