On January 17, 2025, a Tarrant County jury found 62-year-old Thomas Munoz guilty of two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact and sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
In March, 2023, a woman reported to Fort Worth police that her uncle, Munoz, sexually assaulted her multiple times in the 1990s, from the ages of 3 to 7.
"You do not get to protect a child today but you can finally, after 30 years, hold this man accountable for what he did," ADA Chris DeWitt told the jury.
The case was prosecuted by Tarrant County Assistant District Attorneys Chris DeWitt and Mary Martin. The DA investigator was Briant Thomas.
