Addison Police Arrest Driver in Stolen Truck at Village on the Parkway

On January 20, 2025, Addison Police officers patrolling for vehicle theft in the Village on the Parkway restaurant parking lot identified a brand-new Ram TRX with a fake paper tag. Recognizing the high demand for American trucks and sports cars among organized vehicle theft crews, officers investigated further.

Upon checking multiple VIN plates, they confirmed the truck was stolen. Officers conducted surveillance until the driver returned and then detained him. During an interview, the driver admitted to knowing the truck was stolen, citing the improbably low purchase price of $6,000 for a $90,000 vehicle.

The suspect was arrested for unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of fentanyl and other narcotics, and unlawful carrying of a firearm.

The Addison Police Deparment will continue to collaborate with local businesses and neighboring police departments to combat organized vehicle theft.
