Saginaw Traffic Stop Leads to 25-Year Sentence for Methamphetamine Possession

Ty Davis

The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office announced that a jury has found 29-year-old Ty Davis guilty of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The charges stemmed from a traffic stop on March 18, 2024, in Saginaw, Texas. During the stop, Davis attempted to evade Saginaw Police officers but was ultimately apprehended. Officers discovered 4.29 grams of methamphetamine in his pocket during the arrest.

In the punishment phase of the trial, the court reviewed evidence of Davis’s extensive criminal history, which spans over a decade. He was determined to be a habitual offender with two prior prison sentences for Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle.

The case was prosecuted by Caroline Nelson and Peter Gieseking.
