Dallas Man Arrested After Firing Shot in Road Rage Incident

Victor J. Martinez Rubio, 25, was arrested on January 14, 2025, following a road rage incident that ended with him firing a shot at another driver’s vehicle near W. Jefferson Blvd. and S. Cockrell Hill Rd.

At approximately 7:20 a.m., Cockrell Hill officers responded to reports of shots fired after the victim reported aggressive driving behavior from Martinez. According to the victim, Martinez displayed a firearm and fired a round at the victim’s vehicle while driving eastbound on W. Jefferson Blvd. The victim, fearing for their safety, provided dispatch with a description of the suspect’s vehicle and license plate.

Using this information, officers from the Dallas Police Department located Martinez at his Dallas residence, where he was detained. After confirming the shooting occurred within Cockrell Hill city limits, Martinez was transported to the Cockrell Hill Police Department, where he confessed to the incident.

A Glock 43X firearm, which was used in the shooting, was recovered from Martinez’s residence and placed into evidence. His 2020 black GMC was also seized as part of the investigation.

Martinez was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked into the Dallas County Jail. The incident remains under investigation.
