Fort Worth Man Receives Two Consecutive Life Sentences for Sexually Abusing Young Relatives

Joe Cecil Tiner

On February 3, 2025, a Tarrant County jury found 57-year-old Joe Cecil Tiner guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child. He was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences.

The investigation began in 2022 when a female relative of Tiner reported to Fort Worth Police detectives that she had been sexually assaulted by him multiple times between the ages of 4 and 12, starting in 2005.

Further investigation revealed that multiple female relatives had experienced sexual abuse at the hands of Tiner during their childhoods.

"If anyone deserves the title serial child molester, it's Joe Cecil Tiner," stated ADA Deanna Franzen during the trial.

The case was prosecuted by Deanna Franzen and Gill Clements, with assistance from DA investigator Scott Giovannelli and Victim Coordinator Candace Burnett.

The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office expressed gratitude to the Fort Worth Police Department for their work on this case.
