Six school records fell this past week as the Ranchview Wolves made an impressive appearance at the Regional Swimming & Diving Championship in Mansfield.
Freshman Ilya LeBoulch started the record haul by smashing his own school mark in diving on the first day of competition. His score of 258 bettered his best by more than 20 points, and earned him 5th place, the highest ranking result of the meet for Ranchview.
Sarah Rovi broke the school record in the 200 Free held by Shelby Santoscoy, Sinjin Venegas lowered his own mark in the 500 Free by 11 seconds, while Kazuomi Motoike shaved a half-second off his 100 Back record he set at the District Championship. LeBoulch, Venegas and Motoike teamed up with Cameron Leet and Tyler Rozelle for a pair of relay records as well.
Out of 12 performances by the Wolves, 100 percent of them were personal best achievements! The boys’ team ended up in 12th place, while the girls managed a 13th place finish in the 20-team region.
The team’s twelfth athletes of the week are: Sinjin Venegas, Sarah Rovi, Ilya LeBoulch and Kazuomi Motoike for their record-setting performances!
