Two-Month North Texas Operation Results in 74 Arrests, Hundreds of Firearms and Drugs Seized

A targeted two-month initiative involving multiple law enforcement agencies in North Texas has resulted in charges against 74 individuals and the significant recovery of illegal firearms and narcotics. The operation underscores a strong commitment to combating violent crime and enhancing community safety.

During the initiative, law enforcement recovered an astonishing 287 firearms, including 25 machineguns and 147 machinegun conversion devices. These conversion devices, often referred to as "switches" or "drop-in auto sears," can transform semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic weapons, significantly increasing their rate of fire and posing a severe threat to public safety. Possession of these devices is generally illegal under federal law.

The operation also confiscated over 24 kilograms of illegal drugs, a haul that included fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, and marijuana.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) played a crucial role, with its SWAT, CNET, K-9, and Drone Units working alongside the ATF to execute a critical search warrant. This particular operation secured a three-building residence where nine individuals, including two children, were safely brought out.

This successful multi-agency effort was made possible through the collaboration of:

  • ATF Dallas
  • DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
  • Fort Worth Police Department
  • Tarrant County District Attorney's Office
  • U.S. Marshals
  • DPS (Texas Department of Public Safety)
  • ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)

Law enforcement officials stated they remain committed to protecting their communities, combating violent crime, and continuing to crack down on illegal firearms and drug trafficking.
