The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday, June 23, that 28-year-old Breckron Wolfe pleaded guilty to the murder of his cousin, 61-year-old Ronald Collins, and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
The fatal shooting occurred on October 11, 2022. According to Fort Worth police, officers found Collins with gunshot wounds to the upper body and head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Wolfe was located at the scene and interviewed by police. The firearm used in the killing was later recovered in the backyard of a home three houses away.
During the court hearing, Collins’ sister addressed Wolfe after his plea. “We've isolated you, you're no longer related to us,” she said. “You have to suffer the consequences, may God have mercy on your soul.”
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Deanna Franzen. Detective Cedillo of the Fort Worth Police Department led the investigation.
