Truck driven by robbery suspect

A suspect is at large following an aggravated robbery, commonly referred to as a “jugging,” that occurred on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in the 1000 block of N. Polk Street.

The incident took place around 6:20 p.m. after a victim was followed from a local bank to a nearby convenience store. The suspect approached and robbed the individual at gunpoint. Fortunately, the victim was not injured during the encounter.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Black male, approximately 25 to 30 years old, standing between 6’0” and 6’1” tall, and weighing between 170 to 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes. The suspect fled the scene in a black Dodge truck, an image of which has been released by authorities.

“Jugging” is a form of robbery in which a suspect targets a victim after they complete a financial transaction at a bank or ATM, often following them to another location before striking.

The DeSoto Police Department is urging residents to remain alert and aware of their surroundings when conducting financial activities in public.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the black Dodge truck is urged to contact DeSoto Police Detectives at (469) 658-3050.
