On Sunday, July 13th at approximately 5:03 p.m., Gainesville Police Officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of East U.S. Highway 82 in Gainesville, Texas, in response to a major crash involving a Polaris side-by-side utility vehicle rollover with multiple children injured.
The preliminary investigation revealed that four boys, ranging in age from six to thirteen, were riding the Polaris in a parking lot when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to roll and eject all four occupants. All four children were transported by emergency medical services. One child was airlifted to a metroplex hospital, while two others were treated locally. Despite lifesaving efforts, the six-year-old child died from his injuries.
