FORT WORTH, TX – A Tarrant County jury sentenced Enrique Mascorro, 21, to 10 years in prison on Friday, July 11, 2025, for a murder committed in 2021 when he was 17 years old.
On June 5, 2021, Mascorro fatally shot 18-year-old Devin Angel by firing seven rounds into a car in which Angel was a passenger. Three bullets struck Angel, with one hitting him in the temple.
At approximately 8:47 p.m. that night, Tarrant County deputies responded to the shooting in the 4100 block of Great Belt Drive in Crowley. Mascorro fled the scene and concealed the firearm used, which was never recovered by police.
That same night Mascorro was located and arrested by deputies.
During the trial, the jury learned that Mascorro had violated his bond numerous times, testing positive for THC and alcohol.
The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office investigated the case. Assistant District Attorneys Lauren Lawrence and Deanna Franzen prosecuted the case, with Lee Blaisdell serving as the DA investigator.
