Surveillance Cameras Help Dallas Police Catch Robbery Suspects Moments After Violent Attack

DALLAS, TX – In the early morning hours of July 1, 2025, Dallas Police quickly apprehended two suspects following a violent robbery thanks to real-time surveillance technology and coordination between patrol officers and detectives.

At approximately 1:35 a.m., Northwest Patrol officers responded to a robbery-in-progress in the 4800 block of Maple Avenue. The suspects, identified as Whitney Morris, 30, and Darian Ventura, 45, had reportedly strangled a man and stolen his property.

As officers were en route, detectives from the department’s Fusion Unit used surveillance cameras in the area to track Morris and Ventura in real-time. The detectives relayed their location to responding officers, who were able to intercept and arrest both suspects shortly after the incident.

The victim was transported to a hospital and was reported to be in stable condition. Morris and Ventura were each charged with Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony.

“This operation also highlights the close collaboration between our fusion center analysts and patrol officers,” said Deputy Chief Stephen Williams. “Our officers constantly use technology and we’re seeing the results firsthand when it comes to identifying and arresting criminals.”

The case is documented under number 093095-2025.
