A missing adult female was found deceased in the water near a private boat slip on Eagle Point Road early Sunday morning.
Lewisville Police Department (LPD) officers responded at 7:22 a.m. after a 911 call reported the woman had departed from one private boat slip en route to another but never arrived. After collecting witness statements, officers conducted a thorough search of the area.
The victim was located in the water near a private boat slip at approximately 7:34 a.m. The Lewisville Fire Department (LFD) recovered the body, and detectives from the Lewisville Police Criminal Investigations Division responded.
Preliminary investigation shows the victim was not wearing a life jacket, and alcohol may have been a factor. Detectives do not currently suspect any criminal activity.
The Denton County Medical Examiner has taken over the case for official victim identification and to determine the cause of death.
