Semi-Truck Driver Dies After Multi-Vehicle Collision in Far Northeast Dallas

DALLAS, TX – A multi-vehicle collision in Far Northeast Dallas on Monday afternoon, July 21, resulted in the death of a semi-truck driver and injuries to seven other individuals. Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) officials reported that the incident, which occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Plano Road and Miller Road, was likely caused by the semi-truck driver losing consciousness.

According to DFR, the large semi-truck collided with another 18-wheeler, a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus, a box truck, and a sedan.

Seven individuals involved in the crash sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Five of these individuals suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while one remains in critical but stable condition. Tragically, the driver of the semi-truck succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

The identities of those involved in the collision have not yet been disclosed.

The crash is currently under investigation, with preliminary findings suggesting that the semi-truck driver experienced a medical emergency that contributed to the incident.
