McKinney Man Arrested for Murder After Wife Found Stabbed in Closet

Eslam Mohamed

MCKINNEY, TX — A 43-year-old man was arrested Friday evening, July 25, 2025, after police discovered his wife deceased inside their McKinney home during a welfare check.

Around 6:00 p.m., McKinney Police and Fire responded to a residence in the 5700 block of Broken Spur Drive after a family member in Dallas requested a welfare check. The request stemmed from concerns by relatives overseas who believed Eslam Said Mohamed Mohamed may have been experiencing a medical emergency.

Fire personnel arrived first and forced entry into the home, where they located Mohamed on the living room couch with minor injuries and blood on his hands. When asked if anyone else was in the house, Mohamed referenced a woman in a closet.

Emergency personnel discovered 40-year-old Kubra Zafer, Mohamed’s wife, deceased in the master bedroom closet with a stab wound to the neck. A knife was found nearby. Fire personnel exited the residence and awaited police arrival.

Mohamed was transported to Medical City McKinney for treatment, then taken into custody and booked into the Collin County Jail for murder. His bond has been set at $1 million.

The case remains under active investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the McKinney Police Department Crime Tip Line at 972-547-3480 or email crimetipline@mckinneytexas.org.
