GRANBURY, TX – A subject is dead after being shot by Hood County Sheriff's Deputies while they were attempting to serve a felony arrest warrant on Thursday morning, July 31.
At approximately 9:15 a.m., deputies responded to the 4000 block of Lands End Court in the Indian Harbor subdivision to serve the warrant. Upon contact, the subject reportedly presented a firearm toward the deputies. In response to what was deemed an immediate threat, deputies discharged their weapons, striking the subject. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No deputies sustained injuries, and authorities have confirmed there is no active threat to the public.
The Texas Department of Public Safety - Texas Ranger Division has responded to the scene and is leading the investigation, which is standard procedure for an officer-involved shooting.
