UPDATE: DeSoto Police officers have arrested 30-year-old Jerica Sherell Wright of Dallas in conneciton with this shooting. DeSoto detectives successfully located Wright following a thorough follow-up investigation. She was contacted by police shortly after the incident and voluntarily surrendered to authorities this morning after a warrant for her arrest was issued.

DESOTO, Texas — On August 7, 2025, DeSoto Police responded to a shooting around 4:15 p.m. in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant in the 900 block of North Interstate Highway 35-E service road.
According to reports, a female motorist was shot in the left leg by another driver during an apparent road rage incident. The victim, an adult woman, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, described as an adult female, fled the scene in a dark grey Hyundai sedan shortly after the shooting.
