KILLEEN, Texas – The Killeen Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two people dead early Sunday morning in what appears to be a murder-suicide.
On August 10, 2025, at approximately 12:16 a.m., officers responded to a “man down” call on July Drive. Upon arrival, they found a 26-year-old woman deceased outside a residence from a gunshot wound. Inside the home, officers discovered a 23-year-old man, also deceased from a gunshot wound.
Justice of the Peace Nichola James pronounced the woman dead at 12:27 a.m. and the man dead at 12:31 a.m. Both bodies were sent to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science for autopsies.
Preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was domestic in nature and appears to be a murder-suicide. Detectives believe there is no ongoing threat to the public.
