Denton Woman Dead in Car Crash on Windsor Drive; Young Man Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter

Location of accident

At approximately 9:22 p.m. on Friday, August 15, Denton Fire/EMS and police responded to a major crash at the intersection of West Windsor Drive and Northway.

Investigators determined that a vehicle turning onto Northway from Windsor Drive was struck on the passenger side by a speeding vehicle driven by 22-year-old Noah Kendrick. All three individuals involved in the crash were transported to the hospital.

One passenger in the turning vehicle, 58-year-old Rossana Cacal of Denton, was taken to Medical City Denton, where she later died from her injuries. Cacal was originally from Naples, Italy, and worked as a chef.

The driver of the turning vehicle, identified as Cacal’s husband, was also hospitalized. Kendrick was treated for injuries and released before being arrested.  According to Denton Police, the turning vehicle failed to yield to Kendrick.

Kendrick has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle. He is being held in the Denton City Jail on a $62,500 bond.

This tragic accident is creating much talk on social media. While Kendrick was driving drunk going eastbound on Windsor Drive, the other driver failed to yield driving westbound on Windsor Drive. Still, Kendrick is being charged as if he was at fault for the death. This will be an interesting court case if the charges stick.

The case remains under investigation by Denton authorities.
