GARLAND, Texas – A Frisco woman has been arrested after allegedly scamming an elderly couple out of more than $25,000 while posing as an FBI agent.
Police say 22-year-old Jessica Bahu manipulated an 80-year-old man and his 77-year-old wife into handing over the money by falsely claiming she was with the federal agency. Detectives arrested Bahu on August 20, charging her with Exploitation of the Elderly, a third-degree felony. She was booked into the Garland Detention Center and later bonded out on a $100,000 bond.
Garland detectives are working with the FBI to determine whether federal charges will also be filed. Investigators believe additional suspects may have been involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
