Dallas Police SWAT Fatally Shoot Armed Man During Standoff on Far Hills Lane

Dallas, TX – On August 26, 2025, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a call in the 13800 block of Far Hills Lane regarding a man threatening residents inside a home with a knife and threatening self-harm.

Upon arrival, officers were met by a woman at the front door and immediately encountered the armed man inside the residence. Despite repeated verbal commands to drop the knife, the man refused to comply. Officers safely moved the woman away from the home, and the man followed them outside while still armed. He then returned inside the residence.

The suspect, who had an active warrant for insufficient bond for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, family violence, prompted a SWAT response. SWAT officers issued multiple commands for the man to exit the home. When he failed to comply and advanced toward officers with the knife, taser deployments were attempted but proved ineffective. Officers discharged their firearms, fatally striking the man. A Tactical Medical Officer provided emergency treatment on scene, but the man was pronounced dead.

No officers or other individuals were injured during the incident.

The Dallas Police Special Investigations Unit is conducting an ongoing investigation. The Office of Community Police Oversight and the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office have been notified and will conduct independent reviews.
