DALLAS, Texas—A routine traffic stop by the Dallas Police Department’s Southwest Crime Response Team (CRT)/Deployment officers led to the arrest of an alleged drug dealer and the seizure of illegal narcotics and a handgun.
On September 25, 2025, CRT officers located and arrested Ricardo Cabriales, 35, who was wanted for the aggravated robbery of a business that occurred on September 7 in the 2300 block of West Illinois Avenue. Cabriales was charged with Aggravated Robbery of a Business.
Following that arrest, officers obtained intelligence about a drug dealer operating in the area, identified as Edgar Cayetano, 37, who was known to have an active warrant for probation violation. Officers located and apprehended Cayetano in the 3300 block of Marvin D Love Freeway on September 26, 2025.
Upon taking Cayetano into custody, officers discovered he was in possession of:

11 grams of fentanyl

8.9 grams of methamphetamine

A handgun

Nearly $700 in currency
Cayetano was booked on his probation violation warrant and additionally charged with:

Two counts of Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance (First-Degree Felony)

Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon with a Felony Conviction (Second-Degree Felony)
