On Friday, October 3, 2025, at approximately 4:12 p.m., Fort Worth officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Don’s Seafood Restaurant, located on the 5100 block of Wichita Street near Mansfield Highway. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of 18-year-old Jenny Rosales, who had been fatally shot.
Eyewitnesses reported that Rosales and another individual were exchanging car insurance information following a minor accident when a female involved in the accident, later identified as 47-year-old Laterica Johnson, pulled out a handgun. Witnesses say Johnson pointed the weapon at several people on the scene before firing at Rosales and attempting to leave without providing her insurance information.
Johnson later called 911 and waited at a separate location for officers. Detectives recovered the firearm from her vehicle, and following further investigation, she was taken into custody on October 6, 2025. Johnson’s bond has been set at $500,000, and she remains in the Tarrant County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence related to the shooting.
