Corsicana, TX — On Sunday, October 5, 2025, at approximately 6:50 a.m., Corsicana Police responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Blvd.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a local nurse had stopped to provide CPR to the victim before paramedics took over lifesaving efforts. Despite these efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Witnesses reported that a Dodge pickup truck was traveling eastbound when the pedestrian attempted to cross the roadway from north to south and was struck in the outside eastbound lane. Preliminary findings indicate that speed did not appear to be a factor, and there is no evidence that the driver was impaired or distracted. The area does not have a designated crosswalk.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, is described as a Hispanic female in her mid-30s, last seen wearing black shorts. She was found without identification, personal belongings, or keys. Her cell phone was recovered at the scene but was destroyed in the collision. Authorities are working to confirm her identity and notify next of kin.
A magistrate has ordered an autopsy to assist in the investigation. The Corsicana Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
