Before the Thanksgiving break, a group of third through fifth-graders from Lively Elementary put two months of preparation into action at this year’s Girls on the Run DFW. The 5K event is a community run for all with a mission of inspiring girls to be healthy and confident. Lively’s team held weekly afterschool practices with coaches training, learning about wellness and self-esteem through interactive activities and completing a service project as a group. On November 18, families and teachers gathered at Fair Park to cheer on the runners as they took their victory lap - some running beside them as race buddies!
