Garland Police responded to a robbery in progress on February 12, 2025, just before 5:30 p.m., at a store located in the 500 block of the East Interstate 30 Highway. Dispatch informed officers that the two suspects had fled the scene, providing descriptions to aid in their capture. One officer quickly spotted the suspects walking through a nearby apartment complex, and when approached, both suspects fled and attempted to hide.
The Garland Police K-9 Unit assisted in the search, locating one of the suspects, a juvenile, hiding near an apartment patio. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Investigators determined the suspects, both wearing black hoodies, dark pants, and ski masks, entered the store through the back doors. Once inside, a store employee locked herself behind the counter, but the suspects managed to get in. One suspect brandished a handgun and demanded merchandise and money.
The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to identify and arrest the second suspect, believed to also be a juvenile. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Garland Police Department at (972) 485-4840.
