Fort Worth Authorities Shut Down Massage Parlor Amid Investigation into Illegal Activity

A joint investigation by the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD), its Vice Division, and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) led to the closure of TAO Spa, a massage parlor suspected of illegal activity.

Law enforcement and regulatory officials have been inspecting massage parlors across the city in response to growing concerns about human trafficking and illicit sexual services. These efforts align with a recent change in state law, Texas Property Code Sec. 93.013, which grants TDLR the authority to close businesses found engaging in illegal activities.

Investigators have identified cases where individuals were transported from outside the United States and from Texas cities such as Waco to participate in illicit activities at Fort Worth massage parlors.

TAO Spa, located in the 1200 block of Woodhaven Blvd., was shut down after an inspection uncovered multiple violations, including:

  • Employees working without proper licensure.
  • Evidence of illegal services being offered to customers.

FWPD provided resources and assistance to victims found during the inspection.

The investigation remains ongoing.
