Man Sentenced to 40 Years for Deadly 2022 Fort Worth Shooting That Killed Four

Demarius Robinson

On February 13, 2025, 20-year-old Demarius Robinson pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 40 years in prison for his role in the October 7, 2022, fatal shooting of 17-year-old Marc DeWayne Boyd Jr. during a robbery.

Victim: Marc Boyd Jr.

Boyd, a student at O.D. Wyatt High School, was expecting the birth of his firstborn son, Marc DeWayne Boyd III, when he was killed. He was inside an SUV in the 1200 block of Jessamine Street with three other young men when multiple people in the vehicle opened fire, killing everyone inside. Among the victims was Boyd’s cousin, 17-year-old Ricky Craddock.

Fort Worth police determined the shooting was a botched robbery that may have involved drugs after reviewing neighborhood surveillance footage. Video captured a suspect in a Dodge Challenger approaching the SUV before gunfire erupted. The shooter then fled in the Dodge.

Robinson’s case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys D.J. Estes and Idris Akinpelu, with DA investigators Brian Johnson and Zachary Long assisting.

Following the sentencing, Boyd’s stepmother addressed Robinson, saying, “The pain and tears have not subsided in these last two years that have passed. I pray that you utilize these next 40 years to make things right with God.”
